At Sculpture Placement Group, we’re proud to be part of Arts Resource Management Scotland (ARMS) — a new sector-wide initiative designed to support more sustainable, collaborative approaches to managing physical resources across Scotland’s creative industries.

ARMS offers arts organisations practical services to help store, catalogue, and share everything from props and plinths to set pieces and technical equipment. The goal is simple: to reduce waste, increase access, and make better use of the resources already in circulation.

Working in partnership with IG Transport and Storage, ARMS provides secure, flexible storage alongside a powerful digital asset management system that allows users to track, tag, and share their inventory. Whether you’re storing a modular wall, a stack of risers, or a set of flight cases, the platform helps you stay organised while enabling reuse across organisations.

ARMS also offers 3D scanning services, allowing high-resolution digital models of objects to be created for archival purposes, design development, or reuse planning. These models can be embedded into websites, used in CAD workflows, or shared with curators, fabricators, and collaborators.

By helping organisations take care of what they already have — and making it easier to share those resources with others — ARMS is part of a wider shift toward more sustainable arts infrastructure. It’s a practical step toward circular working, and we’re excited to see how it develops.
