Background, history, commissioner of the work
The work was made for a one of a series of four solo presentations at Govan Project Space in Glasgow.
Thematic/contextual information
The drawing element of my practice was explored in this show, with the pinnacle of this exploration coming in the form of a suspended roller shutter door, that rotates in the space at 1rpm and has been finished with spray paint and rivets. A lot of my drawing techniques and themes stem from the margins of my high school textbooks, their constraints and possibilities.
