Thematic/contextual information
Remnant 1 presents a cupboard covered and sealed in 'lead like' material. Its doors are firmly and permanently closed. A small rolled up mattress sits on top, its stillness and blackness symbolic of finality. It speaks of things left behind after death; fragments, memories and a sense of loss.
