Thematic/contextual information
The work was part of a collection that explored the idea of the future, focusing on humanities throw-away culture. The sculpture uses an IBC liquid container frame and string to reference warping threads in weaving. Weaving has a distinct link to the future; in Greek mythology the Fates are depicted as women who weave the future. The work is called Lachesis after the Fate that measured the length of the thread of life.
