Handle (single) was a study for the work Handle, which comprises of 3 elements.
Initially commissioned by Aora as a digital work, Handle started off as a render. It was later produced as a physical sculpture in 3 parts and shown with Bo Lee Gallery in March 2021.
Thematic/contextual information
Handle, a sculpture made from handrail tubing manufactured for public transport across the UK. Inspired by the changes brought by the pandemic, specifically in terms of how touching surfaces are now put under scrutiny, the artist emphasises the form’s tactile nature by a velvet material.
