jesú is the first sculpture from a series of works entitled ‘el mar de plástico’. this body of work combines polyethylene plastic sheeting recovered from the coast of southern spain, with scrap metal found in scrapyards and streets in glasgow
this sculpture is the first one, out of mostly a collection of flat surfaces, where a round shape tapered at the bottom is enveloped by plastic. it has then been molded and slightly melted around the edges to accommodate its structure. it’s a curios object, uncanny at times but ultimately a quiet one
