Cast from a white quartz found in the Yorkshire Moors, this series of casts was created during a residency at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop funded by VACMA.
Thematic/contextual information
This series explores the liminal space between organic forms and the artificial world. The rock forms are cast in jesmonite mixed with pigments created from recycled inkjet printer fluids. As more and more artificial materials are fed back into the natural world the distinction between the two is becoming more blurred. This is explored by the juxtaposition of the organic rock form with the artificial pigments.
