Thematic/contextual information
This piece of work takes its title from the idea of the 'Village College' in which there's few distinctions between the duality of learning and everyday life. Symbols, diagrams and drawings are cast in relief in white jesmonite, acting as a kind of map to a made up village where craft, making and learning lies at the heart. It is made up of four separate panels and references recognisable motifs including Le Corbusiers Modulor Man, the old Habitat Logo, amongst others.
