'The Ode to Grandmother Flowers' is a series of sculptures and an ongoing project.
'The Ode to Grandmother Flowers-the third line' was created during the 2022 Cabbage Art residency and displayed at the show, 'Love and Legacy: Our Grandmothers,' at French Street at the end of the residency.
Thematic/contextual information
The ongoing series 'The Ode to Grandmother Flowers' explores the sublime love, care, and sacrifice of parents. By interweaving elements from the folklore of Grandmother Flowers into a poem that reflects my personal memories of grandmothers, my intention is to offer a glimpse into the complex and inexplicable emotions rooted in motherhood/parenthood in Korea.
