Thematic/contextual information
This artwork installation was influenced by the writings of French Archaeologist and Theologian André Parrot. He was the Director of the Louvre Museum from 1968 to 1972 and was noted for discovering the ancient Mesopotamian city of Mari. The artwork draws influence from historical drawings of the Temple of Solomon and the Temple of Taïnat, combining a conceptual framework, physical form and an exploration of language, which illuminates the similarities between the ancient and the modern. Evidenced in the creation of a feedback loop that exists from the past to the present.
