Thematic/contextual information
This piece is part of an ongoing project that pursues ideas of architectural ‘holdouts’, buildings that have been left behind by their original context.
The form of the sculpture is based on a tenement building in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh. This structure lost its original neighbouring buildings in the 1970s before being placed in another new context today with that development being replaced again with another round of construction.
