Thematic/contextual information
'Pollinators 3018' consists of a collection of insect-like sculptures, which can be installed on floors, walls or other surfaces. They are made with cast silicone and stand on thin steel wire legs, which can be adjusted according to the surface. They are imagined as a pollinating species in a far distant future from now. Reminiscing a mixture of human evolutionary descendants, cyborgs and animals, they reflect on the current threat to natural pollinators, and subsequently to humanity.
