Thematic/contextual information
Oxbridge strut was part of a project exploring themes of hierarchies and power. I used the peacock for its aristocratic associations and as a metaphor for pride with its imperious and ostentatious bearing. The small person crouches on a line of tower blocks and references the classical caryatid pose of a figure upholding a large overhead structure.
