Thematic/contextual information
This work deals with themes of fragility, ethereality and weightlessness. The stars of this sculpture are the silk worm cocoons which hang from each of the three tiers of the sculpture. Each cocoon holds two freshwater rice pearls and two ostrich feathers. These materials act as adornments to celebrate and transform the cocoons from discarded ephemera into precious and bewitching objects.
