Background, history, commissioner of the work
This work was created along with two other "Bubble Life" pieces during the first Covid-19 lockdown. I wanted to create a colourful and positive sculpture to bring positivity to a dark situation.
It is a mixed media piece created in my studio and was exhibited at the Saatchi Art Gallery in 2021.
Thematic/contextual information
When I realized that there is no perfect place, I decided to create a dream world myself. I try to design a world where fears and worries do not exist. My sculptures suggest a playful and colourful way to banish negativity and regain happiness. They are like a charm; they present the idea of guardianship, the original intent of sculpture and painting. My artworks act to protect against evils of the world, creating a space where worries and fears do not exist; it is an imaginary world of its own.
