Thematic/contextual information

Repetition is a key element in my work, as it is this comprehensible order I rely heavily upon. My rhythmic repetitive process of making is very therapeutic and calming, which I believe is present in the formation of my work. Through inherited craft techniques, such as weaving, knotting and macramé, I create an emotive tension amongst the forms. The taut shapes created by weighting and knotting heightens the physical relief when the piece hits the floor in a sensuous slump.
