Background, history, commissioner of the work
Now forming a triptych with two other similar works, the first of the three was first shown at Iota Gallery (July 2015) and then formed part of multi-media installation 'All Possible Worlds' for Glasgow School of Art Masters Degree show (pictured and reviewed in The Herald 12.09.15). Most recently a piece from the triptych was selected for the Royal Scottish Academy Open Exhibition (2017) and has also featured in a science-themed art exhibition.
Thematic/contextual information
The work has the potential to be installed as a triptych or individually. The work's interpretation should remain open, but it may be of interest for prospective collectors to know that the work has been informed by a wider exploration of tensions between embodied and cognitive forms of experience, and of the perceptual overlaps between two and three dimensional space.
