Thematic/contextual information
2015 was remarkable for its moons - huge harvest and blood moons contrasting with the cool white of the more "normal" moon. The moons were watching over the unfolding refugee crisis in the Mediterranean, then at its most intense in all its heartbreaking humanity and inhumanity. It was hard not to feel a sense of portent as the huge coloured moons hung in the sky above these scenes of desperation.
